Aerial Platform Operations

Course Description: Shooting from a helicopter is normally taught only in elite units, and most soldiers and police officers never get to do it in their entire career. With us, you don't have to serve in a special unit or be a member of the armed forces. In two days you will go through everything from zeroing your rifle to shooting from a helicopter in flight. Aerial Platform Operations (APO) is a two-day course in shooting a semi-automatic rifle from a helicopter. Outside the United States, we are the only place where you can legally attend it. On the first day at the range, you will precisely zero your rifle with and without a suppressor and shoot at distances from 50 to 150 meters, including dynamic shooting under time pressure. The second day belongs to the helicopter. After the theory and the safety briefing, you will dry practice boarding, securing yourself, shooting positions and exiting. Then comes live fire: first from a helicopter on the ground with the engines off, then in a hover and during air taxiing. Next come firing passes over the targets: the helicopter flies a circuit away from the range, runs in over the targets from a set direction, and you have just a few seconds on each pass to engage. Finally, you will shoot during a quick stop into a flare. Besides the shooting itself, you will learn to bring together safety, communication with the crew and working in conditions that keep changing throughout the flight. We never have more than 6 students per instructor, so everyone gets real attention. Don't have your own rifle or the required gear? Who Is This Course For: For experienced shooters who have mastered the rifle and want to experience training they would normally never get to. Dynamic Rifle 1 is required, but we recommend having completed the higher levels of the Dynamic Rifle series as well. What You Will Learn: After two days you can precisely zero a rifle with and without a suppressor and shoot accurately at distances of up to 150 meters. You know how to move safely around and inside a helicopter, how to board, secure yourself and take a shooting position. And you have experienced shooting from a helicopter in a hover, during air taxiing, on firing passes over the targets with only a few seconds to hit, and during a hard quick stop. Contents: Day 1 (from 12:00 pm): precise rifle zeroing with and without a suppressor, zero confirmation and shooting at various distances from 50 to 150 meters, drills focused on dynamic shooting under time pressure at longer distances. Day 2 (from 9:00 am): APO theory, safety briefing for working around and inside the helicopter, PowerPoint presentation of the full program for the day, dry practice in the helicopter (boarding, securing yourself, shooting positions, exiting), shooting from a helicopter on the ground with the engines off, shooting from a helicopter in a hover and during air taxiing, shooting on repeated firing passes over the targets (the helicopter flies circuits away from the range and runs in over the targets from a set direction), shooting during a quick stop into a flare. Required Equipment: Comfortable civilian or tactical clothing or a duty combat uniform and solid outdoor or military boots (both suited to the current weather and outdoor temperatures), a belt with a spare magazine pouch, or a plate carrier or tactical vest with pouches for magazines and gear, shooting glasses, hearing protection (earmuffs, earplugs, etc.), tactical gloves and a work seat harness. Weapon: Semi-automatic rifle (AR15, BREN, AK74 that can be fitted with a brass catcher) with zeroed sights and a red dot, a sling, two magazines and at least 300 rounds, or a sniper rifle with a zeroed scope, a sling and at least 100 rounds. A brass catcher and a suppressor. If you do not own a gun or would like to try a different one, we can provide a rifle, ammunition and other accessories for your chosen course date. If you hold a European Firearms Pass (EFP) with your firearm listed in it, you may temporarily bring it to the Czech Republic and use it for training. Under Czech law it is enough to prove the purpose of your visit, for example with your course booking or another document confirming the reason for your trip. An official invitation is not required by law. The EFP also covers carrying an amount of ammunition that matches the purpose of the trip, for example for a competition or training. Please note that transit countries or your airline may apply their own limits or requirements. Course Description: When your rifle jams in front of an attacker and there's no time to clear it, the fastest solution is in the holster on your belt. At Combined Firearms you will learn to transition from rifle to pistol safely and without hesitation, and the other way around, to go back to the rifle when you need to shoot through something or hit a target at a longer distance. Combined Firearms is a one-day shooting and tactics course on transitions between a long gun and a handgun. We start with a quick review of techniques from the level 1 to 3 pistol and rifle courses, then you will practice emergency and tactical weapon transitions. Then come the basics of working in pairs and several dynamic scenario drills where you put the procedures to the test. Come in the clothing and gear you normally wear or use at work, so you train with exactly what you have on. You can rent the weapons as a complete package for your chosen date. CQB Live Fire

Course Description: So far you have practiced the procedures from the CQB course with training weapons and marking ammunition. At CQB Live Fire you will repeat them with live weapons, from pairs all the way up to a team. CQB Live Fire is a one-day shooting and tactics course where you use live weapons in confined and built-up spaces. We review the basic tactical procedures from the CQB course, and then you will work on moving down a hallway, slicing the pie on doorways and room entries, first in pairs, then as a team. At the end you will clear a complete complex of rooms, hallways and a house. When working as a team with live ammunition, everything depends on the discipline of every participant, so we put a strong emphasis on communication and safe weapon handling. Low Light

Course Description: Shooting a pistol while holding a flashlight in your other hand is a skill you can't practice at an ordinary commercial range. At Low Light you will learn it, along with when to use the light and when to use the darkness to your advantage instead. Low Light is a two-day course in pistol tactics, manipulation and shooting in reduced visibility and darkness, for self-defense and for duty use by individuals and teams. You start with theory on flashlight types and functions, tactics for illuminating spaces and working with light, shadows and darkness. Then come flashlight holding techniques, pistol and flashlight manipulation drills, shooting position changes and working in pairs. You will also get an introduction to tactical preparation inside buildings, where light and darkness can be used to your advantage, and learn techniques for shooting a pistol with a handheld tactical flashlight. You work through scenarios with FX Simunition weapons, a force-on-force system with marking ammunition. Glock pistols with holsters and FX ammunition are included in the course fee. For the live-fire part you need your own pistol, or you can rent one for your chosen date, and above all a handheld tactical flashlight. You can hold the flashlight correctly, manipulate the pistol and flashlight, change positions and work in pairs. You have the basics of tactical preparation inside a building using light and darkness, you can shoot a pistol with a handheld flashlight, and you have tested it all in scenarios with FX Simunition weapons. Machine gun

Course Description: Most people associate the machine gun with the military, and the average shooter never gets to fire one. If you hold a Czech firearms license, you can go through everything on the Minimi machine gun with us in a single day, from disassembly and cleaning to shooting from various positions and changing the barrel. Machine Gun is a one-day machine gun operator course. We start with theory, disassembly and assembly, maintenance and cleaning, and we show you what accessories are used on a machine gun. After dry practice of safe handling comes live fire from various positions, malfunction clearance and barrel changes. We will lend you a Minimi machine gun in 5.56 NATO, and 100 belted rounds are included in the course fee, with more available to buy on site. All you need to bring is clothing suited to the weather, eye and ear protection and gloves. The course is open only to holders of a Czech firearms license. We never have more than 8 students per instructor, so everyone gets real attention and you are never at the machine gun without supervision. Choose a date in the calendar below. Who Is This Course For: For holders of a Czech firearms license who want to learn to operate a machine gun. This includes foreigners living in the Czech Republic who hold a Czech firearms license but don't speak Czech, since instruction can be translated into English. What You Will Learn: After the course you know how a machine gun is built and you can disassemble, assemble, clean and maintain it. You know what accessories can be used on a machine gun. You can handle it safely, shoot from various positions, clear a malfunction and change the barrel. Shooting Instructor

Course Description: A good shooting instructor doesn't just give commands. He spots a student's mistake, knows how to fix it and explains why the technique is done exactly this way. That is what you learn for a week at Shooting Instructor, and you try it out right away by teaching a group of shooters. Shooting Instructor is a seven-day course for aspiring and active shooting instructors. It is not primarily about shooting better, but about passing your knowledge and skills on to others. You will cover training methodology and writing lesson plans, selecting and preparing training materials, the habits that let an instructor keep the range safe, and recognizing students' shooting mistakes. You will learn how to bring modern trends and complex drills into your teaching. Your own teaching sessions are an important part of the course. You teach a group of shooters, and the instructor trainers give you feedback right away, which you then work into your next session. Expect long evenings over your lesson plans, since you prepare each session the day before. The teaching is based on the procedures we use in our Dynamic Pistol and Dynamic Rifle courses. Team Work

Course Description: When you shoot as part of a team, you have to keep track of the people around you, not just the target. You need to know when to shoot and when to cover your partner, where everyone on the team is right now and what the whole group's next move will be. Team Work is a one-day shooting and tactics course on cooperation and communication between armed team members. After a short review of techniques from Dynamic Pistol 1 to 3 and Dynamic Rifle 1 to 3, you will move on to shooting in pairs, teams of three and teams of four. You will shoot from behind cover, move down a hallway, enter a room and maneuver as a team in open areas and using cover. We put the emphasis on coordinated movement, clearly divided responsibilities and safety, because there are other people with guns moving right next to you. You train with live weapons, both pistol and rifle. If you don't have your own, just add a complete package to your booking and the guns, holsters, ammunition and eye and ear protection will be ready for you on site. VCQB

Course Description: When you are attacked in or near your car, the vehicle is the closest cover you have. At VCQB you will learn to use it properly during an attack, work with your weapon in and around the vehicle, and find out which parts of it will actually stop a bullet. VCQB (Vehicle CQB, fighting in and around a vehicle) is a two-day shooting and tactics course on using a vehicle during an armed attack. On the first day we start with theory and demonstrations of positions behind the vehicle. In penetration and ricochet tests you will see which surfaces and materials provide cover and which don't. Then you will learn individual work around the vehicle with both pistol and rifle, and how the driver or passenger should respond to an attack, and the day ends with one-on-one scenarios. The second day is all about working in pairs: you handle two-on-two situations and finish with two-on-two scenarios. All scenarios are run with FX Simunition weapons, a force-on-force system with marking ammunition. FX training weapons and their ammunition are included in the course fee. For the live-fire part, you can add a complete package with a pistol or rifle to your booking for your chosen date. Who Is This Course For: For anyone who spends time in a car and wants to know what to do when attacked in or near a vehicle, whether they carry a gun for self-defense or use one on duty. What You Will Learn: After two days you know where and how to take cover behind a vehicle and which parts of it really protect you, because you have seen the penetration and ricochets for yourself.
