Course Description:

Combined Firearms is an intensive one-day shooting course that focuses on transitioning from rifle to pistol during a shooting situation, including the reverse transition to a long gun from a pistol. During the course, students will be introduced to multiple shooting techniques that apply in a forced or tactical gun transition situation. The goal of the course is to teach students an effective method to continue a shooting situation by quickly transitioning to a pistol when a malfunction occurs with a long gun, or how to switch weapons when a tactical decision by the shooter results. The course also teaches the basics of working in pairs and includes several dynamic shooting exercises to practice these techniques.

Contents:

A quick recap and repetition of some shooting techniques from pistol and rifle courses level 1 to 3, followed by practice of individual techniques of forced and tactical weapon transitions, the basics of working in pairs and several dynamic shooting scenarios.

Recommended equipment:

Comfortable civilian or tactical clothing and solid outdoor or sports shoes (both adapted to the current weather and outdoor temperatures), belt, high-quality and safe kydex or plastic hand gun holster placed on the strong hand side and covering the trigger guard, holster for the magazine, shooting goggles, hearing protection (headphones, earbuds ...), knee pads, body armor or plate carrier and helmet. Just simply bring the clothing or duty gear based on your civilian or Law Enforcement/Military daily usage. If you intend to shoot with ammunition other than the standard 223 Rem, 7,62x39, 9 mm Luger or .45 ACP on this course, please also bring 5 pieces of dummy ammunition designed for dry training and weapons handling.

Nylon or similar soft pistol holsters as well as underarm holsters are very dangerous for the training as well as for the user safety in real weapon carry. Please avoid wearing them for the course and even in real life. High quality kydex holsters from RH Holsters manufacturer for Glock 17/19/26/43, Walther PDP/PPQ/PPS/Creed, H&K SFP9, S&W MP9 along with magazine pouches are available for a small fee. Just click on the course date of your choice and in the section below class info please find the selection "Rent a firerams inc. ammo for course" and make order the rental of the desired kydex holster.

Appendix carry holsters are allowed but it must meet the definition of a high quality and safe kydex or plastic hand gun holster, preferably kydex holster placed on the strong hand side and covering the trigger guard.

If you do not own a guns or would like to try a gun other than the one you own, we are able to provide you with gun with ammunition and other accessories. Please click on your chosen course date and you will see a full list of weapons available for that course date. In the first section you will find complete packages which always include a rifle or pistol with two magazines, kydex pistol and/or magazine holster, eye and hearing protection and the number of rounds needed for the course. If you bring your own factory ammunition, you can choose to rent the gun only. A complete list of these, along with the option to order the ammunition itself, holsters, or perhaps protective equipment, can be found in the sections below.
