Course Description:

Most people associate the machine gun with the military, and the average shooter never gets to fire one. If you hold a Czech firearms license, you can go through everything on the Minimi machine gun with us in a single day, from disassembly and cleaning to shooting from various positions and changing the barrel.

Machine Gun is a one-day machine gun operator course. We start with theory, disassembly and assembly, maintenance and cleaning, and we show you what accessories are used on a machine gun. After dry practice of safe handling comes live fire from various positions, malfunction clearance and barrel changes.

We will lend you a Minimi machine gun in 5.56 NATO, and 100 belted rounds are included in the course fee, with more available to buy on site. All you need to bring is clothing suited to the weather, eye and ear protection and gloves. The course is open only to holders of a Czech firearms license.

We never have more than 8 students per instructor, so everyone gets real attention and you are never at the machine gun without supervision.

Who Is This Course For:

For holders of a Czech firearms license who want to learn to operate a machine gun. This includes foreigners living in the Czech Republic who hold a Czech firearms license but don't speak Czech, since instruction can be translated into English. Without a Czech firearms license, you cannot take part in this course. No other course is required.

What You Will Learn:

After the course you know how a machine gun is built and you can disassemble, assemble, clean and maintain it. You know what accessories can be used on a machine gun. You can handle it safely, shoot from various positions, clear a malfunction and change the barrel.

Contents:

Basic theory, disassembly and assembly, maintenance and cleaning of the machine gun, use of various machine gun accessories, dry practice of safe machine gun handling, live fire from various positions, malfunction clearance and barrel changes.

Required Equipment:

Comfortable civilian or tactical clothing and solid outdoor or sports shoes (both suited to the current weather and outdoor temperatures), shooting glasses, hearing protection (earmuffs, earplugs, etc.) and gloves.

Weapon:

You will be equipped with our Minimi training machine guns in 5.56 NATO. The course fee includes 100 rounds of belted 5.56 NATO machine gun ammunition. Additional ammunition in this caliber can be purchased on site. You can also purchase 7.62×51 machine gun ammunition and shoot that caliber as well.

Firearms and the Law:

Every participant must hold a Czech firearms license. Our instructor will hand you the weapon and you will train with it under his constant supervision.

Timing:

Class starts at 9:00 am. Please arrive at the range no later than 8:30–8:45 am. The course usually ends around 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break during the day.

We run our courses at various locations across the Czech Republic. You will find the exact venue for each date in the calendar, just click on the date. For multi-day courses that use more than one location, all venues are listed there.

Please check the venue carefully before booking. The same course often runs at different locations on different dates. Every now and then a student books a date expecting it to be at our home base, the Oleško shooting range, only to find out on the day that the course is taking place in Moravia, some 300 km away. To avoid this, always click on the date before booking and check where that particular date takes place.

Language:

Czech with English translation available.

Accommodation and Food:

Accommodation is not included in the course fee, each participant arranges and pays for it themselves. There is a 30-minute lunch break, so bring food that doesn't need cooking or ordering, such as an Adventure Menu type ration, an MRE or food from home, and enough to drink for the whole day.
